Word for the day "What a wonderful Name Jesus"
Matthew 1:21 (NIV) She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”Today’s word just shares the truth of Jesus’ and the embodiment of His name. “What a wonderful name, What a perfect Saviour, What a reason to celebrate! The name Jesus is a rendition of the Hebrew name, Yeshua, also used as Joshua which means “salvation”. Jesus’ is from the Greek form lesous- and Hebrew's “Joshua' meaning “may Jehovah help him'. It is the name of Christ and the name of God in Christianity. God had instructed Joseph to name Christ as Jesus when he was born, as is noted in today’s word! The entire New Testament was written in Greek and the word Jesus is the word that is used. It is not the Hebrew יֵשׁוּעַ which is Yeshua. So, it is simple. Jesus is properly called Jesus. “And she will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for it is He who will save His people from their sins,” (Matt. 1:21).“let it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of JesusChrist the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by this name this man stands here before you in good health. 11 “He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the very corner stone. 12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved”, (Acts 4:10-12). Have a Great Christ-Mas season knowing the King Jesus!
