Word for the day: "Persevere"

Hebrews 10: 36 (NIV) You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. The life we live in God is a journey where we get to exercise our faith and our obedience to God’s principles for living. There will be times when you grow weary, times when you want to throw in the towel. You’ll experience pain, fear, and every conceivable emotion. You’ll win some battles but lose others. You may get discouraged at times when you don’t see the progress you’d like despite your diligence. But if you persevere through it all, you’ll honor God and find a life worth living. The Apostle Paul’s words to the young disciple, Timothy, tells us a thing or two about perseverance. “Endure suffering along with me,” said Paul, “as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. And as Christ’s soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you in his army. Isn’t it interesting that Timothy while growing in God, had Paul to encourage him along the journey and remind him of the challenge in a life lived for God! Have you ever thought of yourself as a soldier for God? Or as a mentor encouraging others in God? Soldier’s and mentors are battle tested; they offer experience and know how in a life with God. The bottom line is; wherever you find yourself in your journey with God, connect with the right people, and persevere through it all and learn to trust in the promises of God. Blessings and love on this Monday!
