1 Timothy 4:12 (HCSB) you should be an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.Today, let’s consider the idea of being role models. And whether we want to admit it or not, we are all role models. Now whether we are positive or negative role models is open for discussion. Our family, friends, and even our foes, watch how we behave. Believe it or not and they make careful mental notes about what those behaviors say about the content of our character. So, if we want to be positive role models, we must try, as best we can, to insure that the things we say are harmonious with the things we do. After all, our proclamations will never ring true unless we ourselves are willing to live by them.What kind of example are you? Are you the kind of person whose life serves as a model of integrity and character? Are you a positive role model for kids of all ages? Are you the kind of person whose actions, day in and day out, are determined by what’s right, not what’s expedient? If so, you are destined to be a powerful force for good in a world that desperately needs positive influences such as yours. Take some time and think about this and wherever you need to make adjustments do it now. We can no longer look to athletes and politicians to be the role models we need for our children, families, and communities.Your life is a sermon. What kind of sermon will you preach? The words you choose to speak may have some impact on others, but not nearly as much impact as the life you choose to live. Today, pause to consider the tone, the theme, and the context of your particular sermon, and ask yourself if it’s a message that you’re proud to deliver.
