Word for the day: "The truth so help me God"

Ephesians 5:31 (NIV) “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”32 This is a profound mystery, but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.Today’s message is designed to touch the lives of marriages in today’s 21st century. Honestly, can you think of any act more intimate than joining together in a quiet place, holding hands in prayer, and allowing your soul to be bare naked before God and your spouse? If you haven’t attempted to make prayer a vital component to your marriage, just thought I’d let you know you still have a chance. When couples engaged in the covenant of marriage commit saying “This is our pledge: entering into this act and time of intimacy on a daily basis with the one person you love more than any other. It is my sincere belief you will lift your marriage to a level of joy and satisfaction that you simply will not believe or be ashamed of. Today’s marriages are failing miserably because we are doing the marriage covenant in and of ourselves without the Spirit of God. How about creating intimacy in the Spirit and watch God honor your marriage. It is my genuine opinion your marriage love life will be better, your communication better. Your whole life will improve beyond your wildest dreams. And if you are someone reading this message today and desire to be married one day in a Godly marriage, this whole covenant prayer intimacy can begin even while you are dating your significant other. There is no better time than now to begin a life of prayer with your spouse or your future spouse. You’ll find yourself beginning every prayer session saying “Lord thank you” for this new life-changing experience and that’s "the truth so help me God"! Even if you are married and are not operating in this realm in your marriage why don’t you share this message with some of your married friends with a mindset to help the community of marriage while the Lord is moving by His Spirit.Elder Baker
