Word for the day: "Darkness can birth vision"
Genesis 15:12 (NKJV) Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, horror and great darkness fell upon him. 13 Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.
Another week has come to an end thank God, and we are still here by the grace of God. The spiritual birthing process may come in a time of darkness and despair in our lives. When we read the whole story of Abram we see in Genesis 15:12 that horror and great darkness fell upon “Abram”. In the depths of that unfamiliar and horrific darkness, God told Abram that his descendants would one day be slaves in a strange country, but they would come out of that nation with great possessions and return to the land God had promised to Abram, we call this land today the Holy land.
I have discovered the ways of God may be painful, and may require a measure of soul searching like no other time in your life for the purposes of God to be fulfilled. Profound theologian A.W. Tozer in his book the “Root of Righteousness” says and I agree “It is doubtful whether God can bless a man greatly until he has hurt him deeply” Leadership is often birthed through pain and despair; I must share this with you today. My 8 year pit experience of 2003-2011 has taken me through an tremendous time of adversity and loneliness.
Nevertheless, it was during this period that God birthed The Word Cup ministry that you are reading five days a week and my leadership in the faith and work movement. When someone in my work place called me a leader for sharing the word of God, I know God had birthed something in me at a time when other dreams were dead. It is without question that there are many before me that could claim leadership in ministry, but God has placed me into leadership in this area of ministry via word correspondence and marketplace environment in this season of my life. Have a great weekend and remember God can birth Vision in our times of darkness and despair!!
