Psalm 119:71 (NKJV) It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.

Do you ever feel that your level of success in life is stunted by the pitfalls and setbacks you experience along the way? Let’s consider today’s insight and take it from there. “It was good for me that I was afflicted”.

Our pitfalls and afflictions don’t determine the shape and direction of our lives. What pitfalls and setbacks do, however, is reveal our character. They show us how we respond to fear, disappointments, and failure. They reveal what level of resilience we possess; whether or not we are content to be or act as the victim; and whether we are willing to take a risk by going for it again after initial failure.

Pitfalls and afflictions are necessary components of character formation, and they give us perspective as we pause and evaluate what’s truly important in life. Many times we are on the verge of something great in our lives. I say to you today, don’t be discouraged when challenges arise on your life, instead hang on to your faith, Sincerely believe God made you for this challenge in your life.

Point to ponder – You were made for this time in your life, you will ultimately become grateful for each pitfall and affliction you have endured in your life. As King David eloquently declares in today’s reading “It was good for me that I was afflicted”, you are ready to make the same declaration in your life!

Our Leadership team is especially thankful for those of you who provided financial donations and support in the month of April 2018 by partnering with us in efforts to advance the kingdom of God in this 21st century season: Special thanks to Mr. William Wilson, Ms. Annette Straker, Mr. David Straker, Mr. Kenneth Washington,  Ms. Yvonne Bazemore, Mrs. Cynthia Waiters-Artis, and Ms. Gertrude Scott.
