Romans 8:26-28 (MSG) Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

Living our daily lives with activity and busyness puts us in dangerous territory. Aside from making us emotionally unstable and physically exhausted, it’s also threatening to make us both intellectually and spiritually deficient. We are either making our lives with or without the help of the Lord?

Please hear my heart today family, I am not suggesting you live a passive life. Nor am I suggesting there’s a dichotomy between being and making it happen. But making it happen in life with God requires some compelling steps:

  • Making it happen without the Lord creates and perpetuates the myth that we’re in control; Making it happen with God acknowledges that God’s in control.
  • Making it happen with the Lord commits us to safety, and acknowledges that the Christian life is one of faith-and that means one of risk.
  • Making it happen without the Lord activates spiritual pride; making it happen with the Lord produces humility.
  • Making it happen without the Lord is about reactionary response; making it happen with the Lord is about thoughtfully, prayerfully, and intentionally bringing connecting with God in each aspect of our lives.

Point to ponder – How are you making it happen in life at this point; without the Lord or with the Lord?
