Deuteronomy 31: 7 (MSG) Then Moses summoned Joshua. He said to him with all Israel watching, “Be strong. Take courage. You will enter the land with this people, this land that God promised their ancestors that he’d give them. You will make them the proud possessors of it. God is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t worry.”
Most of us tend to think too highly of ourselves. Our love for having the right answers, solving our own problems, and feeling in control of every aspect of our lives demonstrates our inclination to think we possess all that’s needed. I believe this is the influence of society to handle things oursleves and on our own.
Consequently, we spend a lot of time worrying. When we feel we are have all that it takes, it puts in a compromised position with the Lord. If we have all the right answers, and have control in every aspect of our lives. We literally don’t have a need for the Lord in our lives, because we can handle all that comes our way. As a result we become people who are consumed with worry and fear for most of the days of our lives. Are you a person who worries a great deal especially when challenges arise?
So how do we overcome our worry and fears? How do we rid ourselves of worry and anxiety, most of which is unfounded anyway. The Lord is Sovereign family, meaning God is in full control, I am excited about today’s message: I trust the Lord, And the Lord is worthy to be praised!!
Much of our worry comes from attempting to handle life without (God) because one meaning of God is: Guidance, Order, and Direction. We must be intentional about having God in the totality of our life. In today’s reading Moses told Joshua a message for me and you, “Don’t Worry God has you Covered”. Have a fantastic weekend people of God!
Great Honor and Love,
Pastor James Baker, Jr.
