Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
No matter the venue or platform, television, radio, the newspaper, and even the internet, are means to catch our attention. In recent days we have seen some paralyzing news about the precious children and teachers killed while in Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown Connecticut. My heart has been tender like many in our world because of this catastrophic news.
The news we read and hear is designed to have you think about your future. No one knows what crisis tomorrow may bring. The life of faith involves living each day trusting God to guide and direct our future. That doesn’t mean that you are naïve and ignore things like what has happened in Connecticut. But for the things of life that just crush us like in Connecticut, you can trust God. In the unexpected events of life, you can trust God. The Bible describes faith as “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV). Recent news shares the situation could have been worst if those involved didn’t respond as heroically as they did!
You may not know where your life is taking you. But you can be sure that tomorrow, God has something prepared for you that you can’t see or imagine. That’s why we need to learn to trust God each day, no matter what the day holds. My prayers and love are extended to the families and community of Newtown Connecticut. We here at Total Praise Generation trust God to bring healing, help, and hope to all involved directly and each of us indirectly “By Faith”!
