Word for the day “God will provide”

Genesis 22:10(NIV) Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied.12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son. ”

As Abraham and Isaac neared the place of the altar, Isaac’s curiosity had to inquire of his Father, and he questioned asking his dad about this whole “worship experience”. In Genesis 22:7, we read, “Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said. “My Father!” And he said, ‘Here I am my son.’ Isaac inquires, ‘Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering sacrifice?” (It was apparent Isaac did not have a clue he was going to be sacrificed by his dad as the burnt offering)

It was a innocent but real question. There they were hiking up a pretty steep mountain, carrying an awkward load of wood, and Isaac probably just wanted to make certain that when they got there, they were not going to have to turn around and do it all over again. But note Abraham response came in verse 8. “Abraham said, ‘God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt sacrifice and offering, my son.’ So the two of them walked on together.”

Just like many of us in our walk with God, Abraham didn’t know how God was going to get him out of this one. So he just kept going, all the while telling Isaac, “Son, God’s got to answer your question and solve our problem. Abraham just like me (you) believed that God would provide. Abraham’s answer gives us an insight into his heart: “God will provide” I am certain even though Abraham did not know how or exactly the moment, but he trusted God in spite of his confusion and uncertainty in the whole situation.

The decisive moment is found in today’s reading verse 10-12. As Abraham took out his knife to slay his own son, God steps in response to Abraham’s obedience and faith. This is serious business here people of God, Abraham is ready to slay his own son when the Angel of the Lord, who is Jesus preincarnate a member of the Godhead steps in and says not to kill Isaac. And today there are some thing’s that we are ready to do away with or do as we believe God is instructing us to slay (marriage, job, child, church, relationship, family member) But God has a ram in the thicket and God will provide the answers (you) we need for that situation in our life today. Have a great day and remember “God will provide” the answer to your situation, so Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it said to this day, in the mountain if the Lord it shall be seen, the Lord Will Provide Genesis 22:14.
