II Kings 25:30 (NIV) Day by day the king gave Jehoiachin a regular allowance as long as he lived.
Sisters and Brothers Happy Monday and it’s just great to see another day in this life even though at times I don’t understand what God is up to with me. However, today’s word just reassures us that “God’s provision” is with us always. As Jehoiachin King of Judah servant of God has just been released from exile in Babylonian prison system. He was not sent away from the king’s palace with a treasure to last him for months, but his provision was given him as a daily pension or portion. This is the reality of God’s people and illustrates the joyous position we have in the Lord. A daily portion is all that a man/woman really wants and stands in need of. In Jesus all needful things are laid up for you each day, so fret not you’ll always have what you need because God will supply!
We do not need tomorrow’s portion right now. The thirst that we need in the month of February can not be quenched in March, for we do not feel it yet; we have enough each day and trust me as these next days arrive we shall never want for our needs in God. Therefore, let us not be anxious for nothing because God has our back and that’s the truth so help me God! Jehoiachin’s case is ours if the truth be told; we have a sure portion, a portion given to us from the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! A gracious portion, and a perpetual portion, and this is surely good reason and good ground to give Him praise! Daily is “the Lords provision” and daily must we seek his help, strength, and grace for our lives.
Prayer-Dear Lord as this week unfolds it is my hearts cry that you fulfill the needs, and concerns of each person reading this word today! Lord where would we be without your daily provision for each of us in body, mind, and soul unleashed in our lives? Grant your Beloved children the joy of your continual allowance and not let them ever go hungry while the daily bread of life and grace is on the table of mercy! In Jesus name Amen, Amen!!!
